How often should I have Reiki?

How many reiki sessions do I need?’ or ‘How long will it take for things to change?’ These are common question I’m asked by those exploring reiki.

Like many things in life there isn’t a one size fits all answer.

As unique individuals, we will all experience & integrate energy healing differently. And depending on what brought you to reiki in the first place, you may benefit from regular ongoing sessions to provide support during major life changes or upheaval. Or a couple of sessions here or there, to help you relax, give your immune system a boost, improve sleep patterns, help with clarity & feeling energised, or simply to get things on track so you feel grounded & balanced overall.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

One thing that is handy to remember when considering additional sessions is, if you were to visit a gym, doctor, physio, dentist or psychiatrist, it would be rare to take medication for just one day, or do just one gym, physio or counselling session & expect things to be resolved. The same applies with reiki.

Although many will feel & see benefits after their 1st reiki session, it’s often beneficial to have a follow-up or multiple sessions to further solidify & integrate the healing. Additional sessions will assist in building resilience, preventing old patterns & feelings resurfacing, they can often enhance our understanding of a situation & facilitate greater mental clarity as the as the weeks go on.

Reiki also tends to have a cumulative affect within our energy bodies. So, as you have more sessions it reaches deeper & deeper levels of healing, often revealing the root cause of what you’ve been experiencing enabling it to be released.

Overall, I’m a firm believer in trusting your gut/intuition when it comes to energy healing & deciding on additional sessions. After all, ultimately deep down we are the ones who truly knows what’s best for us.

The tricky bit can be, actually being able to hear our intuition in these times.
